Jason at Spates is the best in business! I am still currently working with him trying to find the perfect vehicle. So good that it has motivated me to write my first review of any business. My experience has been nothing but excellent with Jason and Spate INC. He has been nothing but helpful and understanding in helping locate the best vehicle at the best price for me! I will continue to work with Jason and Spates INC for all vehicle purchases!

I was completely impressed with my dealings with Jason from Spates Financial Inc. Jason contacted me within minutes of my email. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I was able to purchase the exact car I was looking for at a great price. Jason has the utmost professionalism and responsiveness; truly top-notch!
In fact, it was such a positive experience that I had Jason sell my old car and will definitely have him sell my cars in the future. I have confidently and happily referred my family and friends to Spates Financial for any of their car shopping, selling and financing needs!

I waited a week before writing this. Making sure I was still as happy as the day I bought my 2014 Volt from Plug Auto. And, I’m happier today than then!
I had been searching for a Premium package Volt for some time. Spates Financial had the car I was looking for, And, fair priced to boot! Spates brought the car to my home for inspection and a test drive. All done at my convenience. It couldn’t have been easier! The car was better than the ad said! We agreed on a price and a few days later I was in Plugs office doing paper work and signing documents. 30 minutes later I was out the door and on my way!
No pressure from a salesman. No sales manager needing to approve anything. No hassle, and, a great experience!
If they have a car you want, go see them, now. Or it will probably be sold.
I hope they get involved with used Tesla’s. I might be there 1st sale!

Spates Financial specializes in electric/hybrid vehicles and is easily the best one-stop for a Chevy Volt in SoCal. Why? Overhead, expertise, and a keen sense of professionalism.
Overhead: when trying to purchase a quality used car, the norm is: a big lot, several salespeople, a back office and associated marketing and support costs. Plug Auto Group is small, low overhead, well-run company that doesn’t have any ‘fat’.
Expertise: Jason knows the vehicle and finance trades and is able to explain the potential routes to purchase an electric/hybrid. He also owns Volts and knows the features inside out.
Professionalism: from assessing my needs, establishing my timeline, informing me of possible vehicles and keeping in contact with me along the process, I felt as though I was working with a peer. At car dealerships, even specialized electric/hybrid lots, I felt like I was either being pandered to or was an unwilling participant in a sales game. Jason provided the same type of documents I found at large dealerships – he uses Simpson Chevrolet to check the vehicle, Carfax, and even provided condition reports from auction houses.
And I should mention that when we went to pick up our vehicle, and sign documents, the whole process was prepared and streamlined. It took us 33 minutes to go over the documents and electronically sign. Amazing. Then we spent another 20 minutes going over the vehicle, talking about tips and maintenance.
I don’t write reviews often because I am not easily impressed. I was impressed by Plug Auto Group and feel I received the vehicle that I was looking for at a price point better than a dealership, with exemplary customer service.

Jason was the complete opposite of what you think of when you try to picture a used car salesman. When I inquired about a Smart Electric car he had for sale he was very transparent about its pros and cons including the $80/month battery maintenance program I would have to continue paying on the car after buying it. Even my local Mercedes dealership was trying to hide that cost from me. His prices were super competitive compared to what I was finding in Los Angeles so it was worth the trip to Lake Forest to get the car. He made the paperwork process very easy and even took care of the HOV lane stickers application for me. I couldn’t be happier with the whole process. If only all preowned car businesses could be as honest and transparent as Spates Financial!
